Boron (DOT)
Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate more commonly called DOT, is the most highly soluble form of boron salt available, it also has the highest elemental boron concentration and the smallest molecular size. Trials in humans show that boron supplementation significantly increases calcium and magnesium absorption while reducing the excretion of calcium and magnesium in the urine. Supplementation also helps in the efficient utilization of copper and phosphorous. Plants also require good levels of boron where it is also an essential calcium catalyst, effectively helping to move calcium ions through plant cell walls. Adequate soil boron levels have also been shown to reduce plant leaf nitrate levels, while enhancing growth.
