Copper Glycinate
This high quality copper glycinate is manufactured Germany, using only the strictest protocols, while using only the purest raw materials. Copper glycinate is a pure organic form of copper also commonly termed an amino acid complex. The copper in this type of product is bonded to one specific amino acid (glycine) as such this combined molecule of mineral and protein is more efficiently absorbed than other organic forms of copper. Other organic mineral forms such as proteinates can be bonded with up to 13 different amino acids, and amino acid chelates with up to three different amino acids. These organic minerals form a much larger molecule, generally speaking, with organic forms of mineral, the larger the molecule the poorer the absorption levels. Glycine is one of the primary essential amino acid within the diet of all ruminants, it is also an amino acid that forms a very small molecule giving better levels of absorption in ruminants than most other amino acids, and of course much superior absorption than copper sulphate which has been commonly used in the past. Organic forms of copper as well as giving better absorption are also transported throughout the body more efficiently, are stored more efficiently throughout the body, rather than just the liver, and being fully rumen protected are not antagonistic to the absorption of other minerals. If PKE is fed, organic forms of copper are less likely to cause copper toxicity than copper sulphate, hence organic copper is the preferred source of copper where more than 2 kgs of PKE is being fed on a daily basis.
