Zinc Sulphate Monohydrate
All zinc sulphate supplied by us is fully ACVM registered, we also get the product independently analysed for heavy metal contaminants before any batch enters our system. We can therefore be confident that no heavy metal contaminants can find their way into any of our end products. We also use the same material for fertiliser blending. Dose rates: Daily year round dose zinc supplementation: 300 - 800mgs depending on requirement. Facial eczema dose rate: Low spore count dose (early and late periods of the eczema season when spores are present in lower numbers)1000 mgs/100kgs live weight, during peak spore count periods - 2200mgs/100 kgs live weight. Zinc sulphate is always the preferred form of zinc in order to mitigate facial eczema risk as it stores very efficiently in the liver, protected forms of zinc (zinc chelate) while very effective and highly absorbed tends to largely bypass the liver, hence will not be as effective in the control of facial eczema. Zinc Sulphate is an inorganic form of zinc which is generally well tolerated within the rumen, given the right conditions and fed at correct rates this form of zinc can be well utilized in the animal and can positively effect the zinc levels in the body. Zinc Sulphate is however very prone to being complexed within the rumen hence its overall effect will always be limited by the number of antagonistic elements present in the diet at any given time, particularly copper. Organic forms of zinc (zinc chelates) have shown in trials to generally have more of a positive effect in areas such as, conception, lameness, disease resistance, and reducing high somatic cell counts. In the soil adequate levels of zinc are critical for the uptake and utilization of phosphorous in plants.
